Limbaugh Humbug

As advertisers flee and radio stations go silent, one must ask:

What’s the Rush?

He’s been spewing his particular brand of crap for decades – why now? Suddenly you can’t call someone a slut and a prostitute? What’s this country coming to?  There used to be a time when a half-assed apology was good enough! Ahhh the good old days … when men were men and women were quiet.

Unfortunately for us, Ronald Reagan unleashed this voice of unreason when he repealed The Fairness Doctrine in 1987. The incurious have been suffering ever since, and in turn the rest of us.  Unfortunately for Rush, while he stood oblivious (perhaps the Oxycontin), the sands of time have shifted right under his beleaguered feet. Could this be the end of the road for the fat bastard?  Will he become a political martyr  for the Republican party, or will he hang on to continue to regurgitate the vile, divisive, racist, sexist, hypocritical vitriol of his party?  Stay tuned…

I Love Vagina -or- You say Virginia…

He wants to Get to Know You...

     Vagina Rules!

     Rule #1:  Women vote dumb-ass.

Possibly the most wonderful creation God has ever made, I love it.  Do you? Why do Republicans hate vagina?  I would argue their apparent war on women proves it right?  Is it jealously? Envy?  Payback for past denial?  Something Freudian perhaps?

The latest:  Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell (R)  says he will sign into law a bill that would require a forced vaginal probe and a waiting period before any abortion.  This would be done regardless of patient or doctor consent.  Governor “get to know you” McDonnell is rumored to be high – on Mitt Romney’s list of possible vice presidential running mates.  Maybe he is just trying to endear himself to women voters?

Question: Why are there any women in the Republican party? Can someone please explain it to me?  This example is just the latest in a long line of anti-woman policies the power-drunk Republican Party has unleashed.  For a party that claims to want government out of our lives, they keep finding creative ways to be involved in the most intimate parts of it.  The right of a woman to her self-determination is just that – hers.  Dumb-ass.

The Maine Event

and the Winner is…

In this corner, Newt Gingrich – Gingrich… in this corner Rick Santorum – Santorum in the corner everybody – somebody get a mop… and in this corner, racist Ron Paul – Racist Ron everybody…  and in this corner… the $57,000/hour man Mitt Romney.  Yes, the cage match continues…

“Tired of the Obama extreme agenda” and “excited to cast the first vote against it”, Maine caucus goers helped “severe conservative” Mitt Romney deliver a knockout punch today.  The golden-gloved one delivered the 1-2 to his opponents with a 39% victory topping Ron Paul’s 36%, Rick Santorum’s 18% and Newt Gingrich’s 6%.

One step closer to being chin-checked by Barack Obama.

FEAR FACTOR: Santorum Compares Contraceptive Proposal to French Revolution and the Guillotine

Oily Taint / Santorum Connection?

      Taitz goes Black

The leader of the birther movement, Orly Taitz, seems to be interested in a little strange.  Republican apologist Allen West is about as strange as they come.  The Florida congressman is on her radar because of his latest outburst.  He demanded that Nancy Pelosi, Debbie Wasserman Shultz, and Pres. Barack Obama “Get the hell out of the United States of America! (and he did say hell)”  Orly is trying to hook up with the Tea Party Republican in a bid to keep her fictitious  movement relevant; by using him as a “congressional surrogate” for her BM (birther guys, birther).  I’m sure Pres. Obama hopes they get together so he won’t have to see her again.   But doesn’t an Orly Taitz / Santorum alliance seem more…   humorous?

Conservatives Shun Republican Party

Joe Scarborough: Republicans are not Conservative

Joe:  “When Ronald Reagan ran in 1980, aides and everybody talked about how he was stupid.  We found out after he passed away that every time he sat on a plane, a train, a car, he was constantly reading, constantly writing things down – so by 1980 he understood what it meant to be a Conservative. (Reading Mika’s eyes one could imagine her thinking “comic books and tic-tac-toe”).  We conservatives feel betrayed by the Republican Party.  George Dubya Bush was going to be a conservative president; he doubled the national debt, he took a $150 billion surplus and turned it into a $1 trillion deficit.  He said he was going to rid the world of tyranny in all four corners.  Bush’s ideas were not conservative ideas.  So are we going to rush into the arms of Mitt Romney and make it 4 more years of big government Republicanism (not Conservatism)?  Just telling me Mitt Romney is not as bad as Barack Obama – that’s not enough for me.”

Frankly, to hear those words coming out of a Republican mouth – shocking!  I remember when Bush the Illegitimate  was in office, each and every one of his policies were vigorously defended by the Republicans.  If one were to disagree, you would be called “un-American” and the Republican party would search for ways to crush you either personally or professionally. Ask the Dixie Chicks.  Ask Helen Thomas.  How soon we forget.  The one trait Conservatives and Republicans share?  Hypocrisy.

A shout-out to Starbucks Coffee.  Whatever you’re putting in the coffee – keep it up!

Iowa Decides on the Decider

  In Iowa its Willie Geist

Still way too early to call, Iowa Republicans are currently voting on who is to represent them in the 2012 Presidential election.  Each uniquely flawed, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, and Rick Santorum (google it), seem to be the favorites – with Newt Gingrich hanging on.

Whoever wins this contest may be a hard pill to swallow for the Republican Party.  Kool-aide anyone?

Black Peter, White Paul

Paul Defends Peter

In the 1840′s when the Dutch empire had deep involvement in the slave “trade”, a quaint tale of one of Santa Claus’ helpers was created.  His name was Black Peter.  He was a little African slave boy who helped Santa by carrying a book full of  the names of all the naughty children.  He also carried a rod and a sack.  No, not full of toys, this sack was used to carry all the bad children away.

This delightful Christmas tale is apparently still being enthusiastically celebrated in the Netherlands today.  By donning afros, blackface, and red lipstick, they proudly keep their beloved tradition intact; preserved for future generations.  The vigorous  defense of the character?: He is only Black because of coming down the chimney, but he, of course, refuses to bathe.  Hmm… a White African slave who refuses to bathe …

Newly revealed racist Ron Paul has been feeling the heat lately because of some previously expressed beliefs.  Apparently, in the 1990s, the Ron Paul Investment Newsletter informed not only on financial matters, but on racial ones as well.  In 1990, the newsletter called Martin Luther King Jr. “a world class adulterer who seduced underage girls and boys”. It also criticized the MLK day holiday as “Hate Whitey Day”.  Then there was the delightful “If you have ever been robbed by a Black teen, you know how unbelievably fleet of foot they can be.” and the factual “In the 1992 Los Angeles riots, order was only restored in LA when it came time for the Blacks to pick up their welfare checks.”  Also, the informative “At least 39 White women have been stuck with used hypodermic needles – perhaps infected with Aids – by gangs of Black girls between the ages of 12-14.” and the always helpful “Carjacking is the hip-hop thing to do among the urban youth.  If you have to use a gun on a youth, leave the scene immediately, disposing of the wiped off gun as soon as possible.”

Racist Ron continues to deny knowing anything about the articles published under his name.  “I didn’t write them.  I didn’t read them at the time.  I disavow them.”  He did however enthusiastically promote the newsletter.  His campaign chairman Drew Ivers said, “He does not retreat or deny material written under his own signature, such as the letter promoting the newsletter.”  When will they learn?  Never put it in writing.

Assuming he’s telling the truth (which I doubt),  “Big Picture” question: If he can’t lead a newsletter, should he be allowed to lead the free world?

Grim Weeper Reaps…

What Tea Party Sowed

With the help of the Tea Party Republicans, Speaker of the House John Boehner suffered a humiliating and embarrassing defeat today; one that calls into question his competence as Speaker.  He was forced to allow a vote on the middle class Payroll Tax Cut, which Republicans in the House, after days of  rhetoric and vitriol, begrudgingly passed.    Imagine that… having to be pressured to help 160 million Americans save an average of $40.00/paycheck.  A government “by the people, for the people”?  Let’s not forget this come election time shall we?

After signing the extension this morning, President Obama is well on his way to his Christmas in Hawaii – Aloha Mr. President.
