Monkey Business

Paul Ryan Perpetuates Deception

Joe Biden made a monkey of Paul Ryan at the Vice Presidential debate last night.  Calling Ryan on nearly all of his malarkey, Biden kept the boy genius on the defense, and at times speechless; seemingly in turmoil when questioned about Roe v. Wade, and other issues where his personal beliefs conflict with that of the Romney campaign’s newly stated ones.  But like a true Republican soldier, Ryan marched onward with the flag of deception flying high. The policy wonk was unable to articulate his campaign’s vision of voucherizing Medicare.  As Biden said, “The numbers don’t [didn't] add up.”  Ryan was pressed for specifics on foreign policy and, even though he had ample time, still managed to give none.  He continued the Romney campaign’s tactic of providing “low information” voters with no information.

Something magical happened last night…  something strange, yet wonderful.  Something we are not used to seeing in today’s politics.  Something we may never see again in our lifetime, for its occurrences are few and far between.  The truth won.

Convention Bumps and Bruises

The Seeds of Discontent

“Republicans who want Mitt Romnay to win – who desperately want Barack Obama out of the race, had  better hope that people like Karl Rove and others that have influence in this campaign start going to the candidate and getting in his face and saying ‘we’re investing a lot of time, a lot of effort and a lot of money in you buddy and you better get your stuff together, and the next time you go on a national Sunday show, you’d better have some answers.  You’re not going to be able to coast into victory; you will coast into a 52 – 48 loss.’” – Joe Scarborough (Morning Joe).  Even devoted partisan,  Republican defender Mark Halperin stated, “The President has a meaningful lead and it’s not tied or within the margin of error.”

It seems reality has set in.  Republican party members are publicly (and Mitt Romney’s team privately), acknowledging the “bump” the DNC received from their convention and the lack of one for the Republicans.  Polls show Pres. Obama with 49% of the vote, and Mitt Romney with 44%.  Even the Republican skewing Rasmussen Poll shows:  Obama: 50%  Romney: 45%.

Uh-oh, better ramp up the voter suppression guys!

The Big Dick

Biggest dick of all.    Just a Little White Lie

MSNBC has reported that newly unclassified documents reveal both George Bush and Dick Cheney were briefed by the CIA the day before Cheney went on Meet the Press to link Mohammad Atta to Saddam Hussein:  http://leanforward.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/06/21/12345196-sharpton-new-declassified-document-undermines-cheneys-claim-of-iraqi-connection-to-911?lite .

Over 4,000 Americans killed and maimed, hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis killed or disfigured, $800 billion of US treasure spent  in the name of what… justice?  Oil? Freedom?  Democracy?  Or was it for the enrichment of he and his friends (lets not forget about Xe [Haliburton])?  Interesting how draft dodger Cheney  http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/chatterbox/2004/03/elizabeth_cheney_deferment_baby.html  had no problem with sending thousands of our children to die by lying us into a war, but didn’t want to personally fight for the country he claims to love.

What a Bush!

Whistleblower Gets Death Threat at Work

According to New York Times, Jack Palmer, an employee at the outsourcing company Infosys, has been getting harassed and even had a death threat letter placed in his office ever since he came forth to authorities regarding shady practices at his company.  I guess the “No Snitch” policy works in the corporate world much like it does on the streets.

Trayvon Was On The Phone With A Girl During Tragic Altercation

A 16-year old girl is speaking out to ABC News about the final moments of Trayvon’s life.  She was on the phone Trayvon as he was being confronted by George Zimmerman.

“He said this man was watching him, so he put his hoodie on. He said he lost the man,” the girl told ABC News. “I asked Trayvon to run, and he said he was going to walk fast. I told him to run but he said he was not going to run.”

However, the girl says Trayvon eventually started to run.  George followed close behind with his loaded 9mm, meanwhile, all Trayvon carried was a “deadly” pack of Skittles.

“Trayvon said, ‘What are you following me for?’ and the man said, ‘What are you doing here?’ Next thing I hear is somebody pushing, and somebody pushed Trayvon because the headset just fell. I called him again and he didn’t answer the phone.”

As reported by ABC News, Trayvon’s phone records show that he was on the phone with the girl (whose parents asked that her name not be used) just five minutes before the police arrived on the scene.

“He knew he was being followed and tried to get away from the guy, and the guy still caught up with him,” Tracey Martin, Trayvon’s father, told ABC. “And that’s the most disturbing part: He thought he had got away from the guy, and the guy back-tracked for him.”

Yeah, I can see how Police would believe this was self defense don’t you?

Exercise in Futility

  Resistance is Futile

The Borg-like Mitt Romney suffered incredible primary losses in the southern states of Mississippi and Alabama last night.  Once again he showed he cannot win in the South.  Lucky for Mitt he will be running agin a negro Nazi, socialistic communist, Keynesian Marxist Muslim who hates white people and wants to take their guns away.

The longer the Republican primary race goes on, the more it seems that Mitt the Inevitable may become Mitt the Fortuitous (if he is allowed the nomination).  The Republican party is going to have to pull a rabbit out of the proverbial bag of dirty tricks if they want their man in.  Can’t wait for the show.

President Obama on the other hand?  Well, what will the Republican agenda be when he wins in November?  To make sure he doesn’ t win a third term?  Will they be able to overcome their racist tendencies and work with him to actually help the American people?  Or, will we give President Obama what he needs – overwhelming majorities in both the House and Senate – to do the things he knows that we know that he knows we want him to do?

Exxon Effoff

  Republicans Full of Gas

By now we all know that the United States consumes approx. 20% of the world’s oil while our domestic production capacity sits at 2%.  We could not drill enough oil here in America to supply our own addicted demand, much less influence world oil prices.  Yet Republican presidential hopefuls continue to blame President Obama for the spike in prices at the tank.  Newt Gingrich even goes so far as to say,  if he’s elected President, gas prices will be $2.50/gallon.  Remember when John McCain said he knew where Osama Bin Laden was?  All we had to do was elect him President and he would tell us.  Well we all know where Osama is now don’t we?

Interesting interview yesterday.  Matt Lauer of the Today Show asked about the increase in gasoline prices.  Rex Tillerson, Chairman and CEO of Exxon (the world’s largest oil company) stated: “What drove these prices up is entirely the crude oil price.  Supply and demand is fine.  So what’s led to this most recent run-up?  Obviously concerns about the rhetoric over the closing of the Strait of Hormuz and the conflicts with Iran.”  What?  Did he just say that?  Yes, yes he did.  The 1%er confirmed that Wall  St. speculators are responsible for the drastic and sudden increases in gas prices.  Not President Obama.  So sorry Republicans, I guess it’s back to the drawing board!

p.s.  – Drill baby drill!
